Questo vino

Vineyard and terroir

The wine comes from selected estate vineyards at Castelnuovo dell’Abate in Montalcino, Siena. Grapes are selected for both quality and vineyard exposure.

Grapes

100% Sangiovese Grosso.

Vinification

Harvesting is entirely manual. Fermentation and maceration take place in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled 24–26°C, with daily pumping over and délestage.

Ageing

Following racking, the wine completes its maturation in stainless steel and subsequently ages in bottle.

Tasting profile

Full-bodied and balanced, with a light tannic grip, good persistence and an elegant, approachable character. It presents a youthful, fresh and fragrant interpretation of Sangiovese Grosso.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 18°C in medium-sized glasses. Pair with pasta dressed with red-meat sauces, red-meat main courses, grilled or roasted white meat, and poultry.

Label / history

Rosso di Montalcino expresses the estate’s interpretation of Sangiovese Grosso in a younger, fresher and more fragrant form than its long-aged wines.
