Boca was once the heart of Piedmont's wine-growing region. In the 1950s, industrialization began to transform northern Piedmont, and the vineyards of the area fell into decline.\n\nChristopher Kuenzli founded Le Piane in 1988. He immediately fell in love with the local land and decided to help revive the region.

Terroir
The estate is located in Boca, in northern Piedmont, an area once central to the region's wine growing before industrialization in the 1950s led to its decline. The vineyards are planted mainly on gravelly soils of volcanic origin.
Filosofia
Christopher Kuenzli founded Le Piane with the aim of reviving the historically important wine-growing region of Boca after its decline due to industrialization.
