Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow on the eastern slopes of the hills in Colli Orientali del Friuli.
Grapes
The variety’s name literally means “Refosco with a red stem.”
Vinification
The grapes are usually harvested by hand during the final ten days of September at optimal ripeness. The bunches are placed in small crates and inspected at the winery. After crushing, fermentation lasts 10–12 days in stainless-steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation also takes place in stainless steel.
Ageing
The wine matures for 12 months in 25 hl oak barrels. It is then blended and rests for 30 days before bottling. The 2014 vintage was expected to reach peak maturity between 2016 and 2020.
