16th century\nThe Clementi-Lisini family became the owners of an old castle and the surrounding land near Sant'Angelo in Colle in Montalcino. The family became one of the best-known noble families in the area, its members distinguishing themselves over the centuries as soldiers, scholars and winemakers.\n\n### 1954\nElina Lisini began serving as the estate's manager and director.\n\n### 1962\nElina Lisini founded the Brunello di Montalcino Producers' Association. She remains its president, promoting Brunello di Montalcino around the world.\n\n### 1983\nFranco Bernabei became the winery's chief oenologist. His work has contributed to Lisini being regarded as one of the leading producers of traditional, classic Brunello di Montalcino.\n\n### 2008\nIn January 2008, Elina Lisini turned 91, and every part of the winery remained under her close personal supervision.
Terroir
