Vineyard and terroir

The grapes are grown at Lungarotti’s Montefalco estate in Turrito.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested in early September. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks, with 28 days of skin contact.

Ageing

The wine matures for 12 months in barriques and 30 hl casks, followed by approximately one year in bottle.

Tasting profile

Harmonious in character, with softness and vibrancy from Merlot, elegance and a distinctive, full texture from Sagrantino, and a straightforward character from Sangiovese.

Label / history

The label depicts the Turrito di Montefalco winery, with a falcon—the symbol of the town—in the foreground. Falconry was a great passion of Frederick II, Emperor of Swabia, and became an honoured local tradition.
