Late 1980s\nAnterivo Giomarelli, described as a passionate lover of good wine, bought what was then a little-known estate near Montepulciano. The property included a villa dating back to the 19th century, several traditional Tuscan buildings, a mill, and several acres of vineyards.\n\n### Expansion\nKeen to develop and expand the estate, Anterivo Giomarelli acquired several nearby properties, fully renovated all the existing buildings, and built a new winery.\n\n### Present day\nThe estate is now managed by the founder's son, Giuliano Giomarelli, who continues his father's work by expanding both the product range and the markets the estate reaches. He works with winemaker Riccardo Cotarella. Cantina Nottola now owns 20 hectares of vineyards and olive groves, a winery built using modern technology, and a cellar covering 700 square metres.
