Storia
Early generations
Winemaking has been passed down through four generations of the Bertolino family. The great-grandfather, grandfather and father were all respected winemakers, and their wines built the family's reputation.
1985: closure
Agostino Bertolino died in 1985, leaving three young children. The Tenuta Olim Bauda winery, which was thriving at the time, had to close, and its vineyards were sold to local producers.
Rebuilding
When the children grew up, they decided to rebuild their father's business. With the support of the consultant Beppe Caviola, they restored production quickly and acquired vineyards across Piedmont, including in Gavi di Gavi. Since 1998 they have built a reputation as some of the region's finest producers. Critics praised their wines as approaching perfection and worthy of being followed as an example.
Today
Dino, Diana and Gianni own several wine estates in Piedmont, including Tenuta Olim Bauda.
Filosofia
The family holds that winemaking is more than a profession: a love of their land, admiration for the vine and a passion for making wine have been passed down through four generations.
