Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards are in the Isarco Valley, at 620–670 metres above sea level, on sandy loam soils. The vines are more than 40 years old.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and gently pressed. Fermentation proceeds slowly at a controlled temperature in 12 and 20 hl oak barrels.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees for eight months in the same oak barrels used for fermentation.
Vintage notes
In 2019, Trentino-Alto Adige experienced challenging conditions. A relatively mild winter was followed by an early spring, then cool, wet weather in April and May. After flowering, the weather became hot and dry. Low rainfall and below-average temperatures in late summer slowed ripening. Harvest began in early September and continued until the end of October.
Label / history
“Alte Reben” is German for “old vines,” referring to the age of the vines from which the grapes are harvested.
