Vineyard and terroir
The Müller Thurgau grows at 800 m on well-positioned terraced slopes in the South Tyrolean Lowlands. The gently inclined sites receive favorable sunlight, while the soils combine clay with calcareous gravel originating from moraine sediments. Altitude, slope and exposure promote full ripening.
Grapes
Müller Thurgau, identified as a cross of Riesling and Madeleine Royal. Alto Adige DOC.
Vinification
The grapes are crushed and destemmed in a pneumatic tank press. A cold maceration lasting 6–8 hours precedes pressing and helps emphasize the fruit character. The grapes are then gently pressed, and the must is clarified by natural sedimentation. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks with selected pure yeast strains at a controlled 19 °C.
