Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from selected vineyards in the Pinzon site in Montagna (Montan), approximately 500 m above sea level. Calcareous soils rich in clay and humus and a northwestern exposure shape the site. Long evening sunlight and marked temperature fluctuations characterize the elevated position above the Adige plain. Regular airflow, particularly the Ora breeze from Lake Garda, ventilates the rows and helps keep the grapes dry.

Grapes

Pinot Noir. Alto Adige DOC.

Vinification

After careful destemming, the must ferments in cement tanks for approximately seven days at 22–25 °C. Frequent pumping over and punching down maintain contact between juice and skins, supporting the extraction of color and aroma. The young wine is racked twice.

Ageing

The wine matures for 12 months in French oak barrels and then for another six months in stainless-steel tanks. After bottling, it rests for several additional months before release.

Tasting profile

Intense, brilliant ruby red. The bouquet is delicate and fruit-led, combining wild cherry with forest-floor character, balsamic notes and subtle spice. The palate is complex, smooth and harmonious, with an elegant structure, balance and a long finish.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 14–16 °C. Pair with roasted or braised meats, game birds, flavorful grilled fish and spiced meat dishes. Cellaring potential is 6–8 years.
