Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from various vineyards belonging to Podere Rocche dei Manzoni, all situated in Monforte d’Alba (CN). The vines are Guyot-trained at a density of 4,000 plants per hectare.

Grapes

100% Barbera d’Alba.

Vinification

The grapes are selected before undergoing controlled-temperature fermentation. Fermentation and skin contact last approximately 12–14 days.

Ageing

The wine matures first in small oak barrels and subsequently in cement.

Tasting profile

An intense ruby-red wine with violet reflections. The pronounced, vinous aroma is intense and persistent, recalling violets and leather. The palate is clean and displays the variety’s characteristic flavours, supported by a firm backbone and dense texture. It is dry, full-bodied and strongly defined in character.
