Vineyard and terroir
Production is confined to the 15 municipalities of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene hills. Conegliano is the appellation’s cultural center, while Valdobbiadene is its production hub. The vineyards lie at 200–350 metres on deep soils composed of conglomerates of rock and sand, with abundant clay and iron.
Grapes
85% Glera; the remaining 15% comprises Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and other complementary varieties.
Vinification
Carefully selected grapes are pressed to obtain the must. One portion undergoes alcoholic fermentation to become wine, while the remainder is stored in the cellar at 0 °C, preserving material for the cuvée beyond harvest. Must and wine are subsequently blended and refermented with selected yeasts in pressurized tanks using the Charmat method. Lasting about one month, the process forms a fine perlage while retaining the varieties’ fruit aromas.
