Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie south of Lake Garda, in the municipality of Peschiera del Garda, at an average altitude of 80 m a.s.l. The Cretaceous-clay soils support vines averaging 30 years of age, trained to Guyot with 10–12 buds per plant. Yield is 100 quintals per hectare.
Grapes
100% Chardonnay, a variety traditionally grown in the southern Lake Garda area.
Vinification
Harvest takes place during the first ten days of September. The grapes are cooled to extract and preserve their aromatic character, followed by gentle pressing. Fermentation lasts 15–20 days in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16–18°C.
Tasting profile
Bright straw yellow with greenish reflections. The bouquet is intense and finely floral and fruity: hawthorn and cherry blossom open into green apple and apricot, with delicate nuances of hazelnut and almond. The palate is dry, fresh and harmonious, with good structure and a citrus vein balancing the fruit’s sweetness.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 9–10°C. Suitable with first courses, lake fish and white meats.
