Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come exclusively from Podere Massoni, the estate’s oldest historic vineyard, in Peschiera del Garda south of Lake Garda. The south-facing site lies at an average altitude of 80 m on Cretaceous clay soil. The Guyot-trained vines average 50 years old, carry 8–10 buds per plant and yield 110 quintals per hectare.
Grapes
100% Trebbiano di Lugana.
Vinification
Harvest takes place during the final ten days of September. The grapes are softly pressed, then fermented for 15–20 days in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled 16–18 °C.
Ageing
The wine matures for 4–5 months in stainless steel, followed by 2–3 months in bottle before release.
Tasting profile
Straw yellow with greenish highlights. The intense, multifaceted and fragrant bouquet combines floral, citrus and fruit notes, including fresh grape, peach, citron, grapefruit and pineapple. The palate is mineral, balanced, soft, delicate and pleasantly fresh.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 9–10 °C. Its pairings extend from the aperitif to white meats, with a particular affinity for lake fish.
