Tasting profile
Deep, almost opaque ruby with light purple reflections and slow, dense tears. Currant, strawberry, woodland berries and blueberry lead an intense fruity and floral nose, joined by potpourri, rose, Sichuan pepper, clove, undergrowth, damp earth and tar. The palate is warm and satisfying, with dense tannins integrated by tonneaux maturation, balanced structure, and a mineral, persistent finish.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 18–20 °C. The expected drinking window is two to three years.
Vintage notes
Extreme spring rain followed by a dry, hot end to summer sharply reduced production in 2023. Only Chianti and vintage Nobile were made because the harvest favored fresh, comparatively easy-drinking expressions of both categories.
Label / history
Tempo is a journey linking wine and music, illustrated by filmmaker, performer and drummer Michel Gondry. The special-edition labels depict Gondry's imagined impressions of six favorite drummers, spanning early jazz through contemporary garage rock. The drawings connect music's singular, timeless vibration with the way a vineyard expresses itself through successive vintages and bottles. The first vintage was 1997.
