Storia
Cantina Sampietrana was founded in 1952, at a time when agriculture in post-war Italy was changing significantly with the arrival of the first tractors. A new land reform was introduced, distributing plots among local farming cooperatives.
The winery's 8000-square-metre cellar was established in the historic centre between the provinces of Brindisi and Lecce, just a few metres from the railway connecting northern and southern Italy, which at the time was the only means of transport.
Over the years, Cantina Sampietrana has remained true to its traditions while adapting to changes in the global market by introducing modern technology and expanding its vineyards. Today the vineyards cover 190 hectares.
