Vineyard and terroir
The fruit is selected from the Il Quercione vineyard at the Campogiovanni estate in Montalcino. The area combines distinctive soils with weather conducive to grape ripening.
Vinification
The wine macerates for 20 days at 30 °C and undergoes malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
It matures for 24 months in 500-litre French oak barrels, followed by 36 months in bottle.
Label / history
San Felice purchased the Campogiovanni estate in the early 1980s. Il Quercione is produced only in selected years and in strictly limited quantities.
