Vineyard and terroir

The wine is made from selected parcels of Barbera grown in south-facing vineyards on the Asti hills. The lots are blended in the cellar before maturation.

Grapes

100% Barbera.

Vinification

The grapes are manually and selectively harvested, then crushed and destemmed. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Skin maceration includes daily pumping over of the must onto the cap.

Ageing

The wine matures for 14 months, including 6 months in oak barrels. This maturation supports the Superiore designation and is intended to develop structure and complexity while retaining smoothness and balance.

Tasting profile

An intense ruby red, developing garnet reflections with age. The persistent bouquet is vinous when young, with cherry, plum and dark berries that evolve toward preserves and fruit in alcohol, joined by balsamic, spicy and occasional floral nuances. Wood maturation adds cinnamon, cocoa and liquorice. The palate is full, warm and harmonious, with complexity, sweet soft tannins and a long finish.

Serving and pairing

Pair with meat dishes, game, braised veal, mature cheese or blue cheese. The stated cellar life is 8 years.
