Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from 3.4 hectares of separate plots in the municipality of Acqui Terme, at 380 m above sea level. The vineyards face south-west and south-east and occupy predominantly clayey and sandy soils. Their coordinates are 44.706317, 8.421159. The plots were planted in 1980 and 2014.

Grapes

100% Moscato bianco.

Vinification

The grapes are pressed, after which the must undergoes static clarification and is preserved in cold storage at 0°C. Fermentation takes place in autoclaves at 15°C.

Ageing

The wine remains in autoclaves for 40 days before bottling.

Technical data

The wine is offered in 750 ml format. It is bottled in an amber Burgundy-style bottle with an elongated neck, made exclusively for Scarpa and embossed with the winery's trademark.

Tasting profile

Pale, bright straw yellow. The bouquet combines yellow peach with sage, elderflower and lavender. The palate is full, with sweetness balanced by lively acidity.

Serving and pairing

Suitable pairings include fruit tarts, hazelnut pie or cake, pears, peaches, apricot tarte tatin, rhubarb cheesecake, cheesecake and anchovies with salsa verde. Its stated longevity is more than three years.
