Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The organically farmed vineyards are in Roseto degli Abruzzi. Their soils are predominantly clay loam, and the vines range from six to thirty years old. The long-pruned training systems are identified as Guyot and capovolto.
Grapes
100% Trebbiano.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand between the middle and end of September. After gentle pressing, the free-run must is clarified by cold static settling. Alcoholic fermentation lasts approximately eight to ten days in stainless-steel tanks maintained at 14–16°C.
Ageing
Approximately three months of maturation in stainless steel precedes sterile cold bottling.
Tasting profile
A youthful straw yellow with pale green reflections. The delicate bouquet recalls peach and citrus. The palate is balanced, fresh and delicate, ending with a long, dry finish.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 8–10°C in a light, elegant tulip-shaped glass with a subtly flared rim, designed to concentrate the delicate fruit aromas of a young wine. Pair with delicately flavoured seafood first courses, grilled fish or shellfish stew.
Label / history
First produced in 2003, Montipagano was conceived as an approachable expression of Trebbiano that retains structure and personality.
