Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
Produced at Tenuta Sorsei in Cavaion Veronese, in the historic Bardolino production area near the southeastern shore of Lake Garda. The 3 ha estate vineyard lies at 140 m above sea level with an east–west exposure. Its light, gravelly soils cover glacial morainic hills. Lake Garda moderates the climate and makes it less humid than the neighbouring plain. The vineyard has been certified organic by BIOS since 1999. Pergola Veronese and Guyot are used, and the harvest is manual.
Grapes
Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara.
Vinification
Traditional red-wine vinification includes 5–6 days of maceration. After racking, the wine settles in stainless steel.
Tasting profile
A lively ruby red with good transparency. The clean, intense bouquet combines berries, redcurrants and cherries with floral notes of rose. The palate is medium-bodied and pleasantly fresh, leading to a persistent fruity aftertaste.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 12–14 °C. Pair with white meats, lightly matured cheeses and prosciutto crudo.
Label / history
Tenuta Sorsei is named after an old locality where inhabitants once drew water from a communal well. Its logo evokes the lake, Bardolino wine and a grape among flowers.
