Vineyard and terroir
The wine belongs to Tenuta Sorsei in Cavaion Veronese, within the historic Bardolino production area near the southeastern shore of Lake Garda. The estate’s 3 ha vineyard stands at 140 m above sea level with an east–west exposure. Its light, gravelly soils lie on glacial morainic hills, and Lake Garda creates a milder, less humid microclimate than the nearby plain. The vineyard has been certified organic by BIOS since 1999. Pergola Veronese and Guyot are used, and harvesting is manual.
Grapes
Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara.
Vinification
The sparkling-wine base undergoes very brief contact between the must and skins to produce its rosé colour. Secondary fermentation takes place in an autoclave using the long Charmat method.
Ageing
The wine remains on its lees in the autoclave for more than three months.
Tasting profile
Bright pale pink with a fine, persistent perlage. The aromas recall wild strawberries and fragrant rose. Softness and roundness are balanced by the characteristic acidic and savoury profile of the Sorsei vineyard.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 6–8 °C. It works as an aperitif with soft dairy snacks and also accompanies light first courses and vegetable couscous.
Label / history
The estate takes its name from the historic locality of Sorsei, where a communal well once supplied water to local residents. The logo recalls Lake Garda, Bardolino wine and a grape surrounded by flowers.
