Villa Marcello

Early 17th century\nThe Tiepolo family founded Villa Marcello as a small shooting lodge in the middle of a vast forest.\n\n### Early 19th century\nThe estate's owner, Elisabetta Galvani Onigo, was the first to decide that the winery needed vineyards of its own.\n\n### Today\nThe estate is run by her descendants, the Marcello family. Alessandra and Adriana Marcello are actively involved in developing wine production in the commune of Fontanelle, part of Prosecco DOC. Mazzei and Villa Marcello continue their partnership. Giovanni Mazzei joined the "Sparkling Wine" project through the Marcello family.

The estate lies in the commune of Treviso, in the southeastern part of the Veneto, among the hills surrounding Conegliano. Vineyard soils are clay. Wine production is being developed in the commune of Fontanelle, part of Prosecco DOC.

Villa Marcello is managed with minimal intervention and a strong commitment to environmental responsibility, as at Mazzei's other estates.

The estate produces Prosecco, described as Italy's best-known sparkling wine, from Glera. Giovanni Mazzei joined the "Sparkling Wine" project through the Marcello family.

As at Mazzei's other estates, Villa Marcello is managed with minimal intervention and a strong commitment to environmental responsibility.
