About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards are in Puglia, at 100 m above sea level, and are planted at a density of 5,000 vines/ha. The soils are predominantly clay and relatively shallow. Fairly high average annual temperatures and scarce rainfall result in small, highly concentrated grapes.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested mechanically during the first ten days of September. Temperature-controlled maceration is followed by racking and gentle pressing at the end of alcoholic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures for six months in American and French oak barrels.
