About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from Nebbiolo vineyards in Ronchi and Ovello in Barbaresco and Montersino in San Rocco Seno d’Elvio, Alba. The sites range from 250 to 310 metres in altitude. South-east- and south-west-facing parcels lie at approximately 250 metres, while the south-facing component is at approximately 310 metres. The vines are between 20 and 70 years old.
Grapes
100% Nebbiolo.
Vinification
Fermentation and maceration take place in a conical oak vat under a submerged cap and continue for approximately 45–55 days. This long skin contact contributes to the wine’s traditional, rich and approachable style.
Ageing
The wine matures for approximately 20 months in a single 20 hl cask made from German and Austrian oak, followed by approximately nine months of refinement in bottle.
Technical data
Annual production is approximately 2,000 standard 750 ml bottles, 220 magnums and 30 double magnums.
Tasting profile
A traditionally styled Barbaresco described as rich and pleasant.
