About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The wine comes from the Montersino geographic mention in San Rocco Seno d’Elvio, a hamlet of Alba. These are the highest vineyards held by the family, at an average altitude above 310 metres, with a south-west exposure. The particularly ancient, marly soils are dominated by limestone and sand. The vineyard was planted in 1999.

Grapes

100% Nebbiolo.

Ageing

Maturation lasts about 20 months in oak casks, followed by a few months of refinement in bottle.

Label / history

The Montersino Nebbiolo grapes were vinified separately for the first time with the 2012 harvest. The project was conceived to explore the potential of Barbaresco from this specific geographic mention and give an individual expression to its elevated, ancient limestone-and-sand terroir.
