About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Chardonnay comes from hillsides in Barbaresco, Neive and Castagnito. The vineyards face from north-east to east and have marly soils dominated by limestone, with veins of sand. The vines were planted between 1994 and 2019.
Grapes
100% Chardonnay. The Rocca family first planted Chardonnay during the 1990s.
Vinification
Malolactic fermentation is avoided to retain the wine’s fresh character.
Ageing
The wine matures for a few months in stainless-steel tanks.
Tasting profile
A young, fragrant Chardonnay with floral and fruit aromas. The palate is rich, full-flavoured and decisive, while the absence of malolactic fermentation helps preserve freshness.
