About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the hills of Barbaresco and San Rocco Seno d’Elvio in Alba. The vineyards face from east to west and were planted between 1980 and 2014. Their marly soils are predominantly limestone, crossed by veins of sand. Meticulous vineyard management is used to temper Cortese’s generous yet demanding character.
Grapes
100% Cortese.
Vinification
Part of the fermentation takes place in 225-litre French barriques.
Ageing
The wine matures for about 10 months in 225-litre French barriques, followed by approximately 10 months of bottle refinement.
Tasting profile
A long-lived, particularly complex white wine combining fragrant aromas with deeper mineral and spicy notes.
Label / history
The wine was developed by Angelo Rocca through careful management of Cortese both in the vineyard and in the cellar.
