About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vines grow in the La Pieve vineyard, on clay soils mixed with pebbles and conglomerates.

Tasting profile

The wine has a delicate, light and harmonious character.

Label / history

Alicante Nero is a local variety from Upper Maremma. After it had been uprooted in favour of more commercial, non-native varieties producing deeper-coloured, fuller-bodied wines, Ampeleia replanted it in 2003 as part of its biodynamic approach and revival of local traditions.
