About this wine

First produced in 1985, the year Marchesi Antinori acquired the Pèppoli estate, marking the family's 600th anniversary in winemaking. Each variety is harvested and processed separately, fermenting in stainless steel at 26-28°C with 10-12 days of maceration for Sangiovese and up to two weeks for other varieties; malolactic fermentation completes by winter's end before blending. The wine ages in large Slavonian oak barrels with a small percentage in barriques and stainless steel; since 2013 vinification takes place at Antinori nel Chianti Classico. The 2024 vintage shows bright ruby color, fresh cherry, raspberry jelly and pomegranate juice aromas with violet and geranium florals, a juicy palate with soft sweet tannins and a long savory finish.
