About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Nebbiolo comes from the Serraboella vineyard in the Barbaresco appellation, where the soil is uniformly limestone.
Vinification
Harvest begins in the second week of October and is carried out by hand. The grapes are sorted and destemmed before fermentation and maceration in 50 hL oak vats for 30 days at a controlled temperature of 30 °C.
Ageing
The wine matures for 24 months in 15–30 hL French oak barrels, followed by at least 12 months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Lively and expressive, with fruity aromas and notes of rose, wild berries, cigar ash, autumn leaves and black liquorice. The palate is clean and refreshing, with a silky texture and an extra-long finish.
Vintage notes
The 2011 vintage retained aromatic brightness and freshness despite the summer heat. Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate awarded it 93 points and called it very impressive.
