About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit grows at 500 m above sea level on an east-facing site with mineral-rich clay-limestone soil. The vines are 20 years old. The estate’s wider vineyard holdings lie among hills at 500–600 m, have favourable exposure and are trained using the Guyot system.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in late October and vinified in stainless-steel vats.
Ageing
The wine rests for seven months in steel tanks, followed by a further one to two months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Straw-coloured, with a balanced palate and notes of fruit and almond.
Label / history
Benito Ferrara was founded in 1880, initially as a grape-growing estate. It now owns 8 ha of vineyards, planted 30 years ago.
