About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the hills of Valpolicella's historic Classico wine-growing area in Veneto.
Vinification
Selected grapes are dried until February and lose up to 35% of their weight, which concentrates flavour, aroma and natural sweetness. After gentle pressing, the must undergoes cold maceration and fermentation at a controlled temperature. This preserves the generous fruit flavours and helps develop warm, velvety tannins.
Ageing
The wine ages for 36 months in Slavonian oak barrels, which give it depth and a silky texture.
Tasting profile
Rich and distinctive, in a classic Amarone style. Ripe cherries, dried fruit and spicy oak notes come together on the palate. The tannins are warm and velvety, the texture silky, and the sweetness refined.
Serving and pairing
Pairs with game, aged cheeses or salted dark chocolate.
Label / history
The Bolla winery was founded in Veneto in 1883 by Abele Bolla. Its first Amarone vintage was 1950.
