About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
For the 2007 vintage, the fruit came from vineyards in the upper part of the Valpolicella Classico area.
Grapes
The 2007 blend comprised Corvina and Corvinone (75%) and Rondinella (25%). The grapes were carefully selected before drying.
Vinification
The grapes were dried until February, losing 30–35% of their weight and concentrating their sugars. They were then pressed, followed by a slow, temperature-controlled fermentation lasting 15–20 days. Malolactic fermentation took place during the first months of élevage.
Ageing
The wine matured for approximately 9–12 months in 500-litre oak tonneaux and traditional barrels; the tonneaux were new.
Tasting profile
Rich and full on the palate, with softness and warm, velvety tannins.
Label / history
Abele Bolla’s grandsons first released the wine in 1950 to mark their grandfather’s 80th birthday. Amarone was his favourite wine, and the name “Le Origini” means “the beginning.”
