About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in Friuli Grave, an extensive area between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea. The zone takes its name from its gravelly alluvial soils. These stony, limestone-rich soils provide good drainage, mitigating the effects of heavy rain. They reflect heat and light during the day and release warmth at night, creating a steady, even mesoclimate that supports ripening.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, gently pressed and fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine matures briefly on its fine lees in stainless-steel tanks to retain freshness and bright varietal aromas.
Tasting profile
Refreshing and fresh, with bright varietal aromas.
Vintage notes
The 2020 winter in Friuli-Venezia Giulia was very mild, without sharp temperature fluctuations. Spring and summer were favourable, and several hot spells in August did not compromise the good yields. The year's white wines showed complex varietal character and the distinctive personality associated with warm vintages.
Label / history
Wines bearing the “Rione del Falco” label are produced at Rione Dei Dogi, a winery owned by Botter.
