About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The wine comes from a 0.20 ha estate parcel of Nebbiolo on the Cannubi hill in the municipality of Barolo, one of the denomination’s most historic Additional Geographical Mentions. Its sunny exposure and distinctive microclimate give rise to a Barolo of character, elegance and longevity.

Grapes

100% Nebbiolo.

Ageing

The wine matures for more than 60 months, including at least 36 months in barrel and 18 months in bottle.

Technical data

Production is limited to 1,260 bottles per vintage. Formats comprise 0.375 L, 0.75 L, 1.5 L, 3 L, 6 L, 9 L and 12 L.

Tasting profile

Deep, intense garnet red. The full, complex bouquet combines rose, undergrowth, spices, cocoa, chocolate and coffee with a subtle citrus accent. Dense, silky tannins contribute body and harmony.

Label / history

The Riserva belongs to the Collezione Rag. Franco Miroglio and commemorates Franco Miroglio, who acquired Tenuta Carretta in 1985. Each vintage carries a different label based on a successful pattern from a fabric designed by Miroglio, making every release a distinct collector’s edition. The first vintage was 2010.
