History

1998: Casavecchia joins the company

Casavecchia became part of the Villa Poggio Salvi company in 1998. The acquisition added a second estate in the Chianti area to the company’s holdings. Casavecchia was assigned the production of three labels: Caspagnolo Chianti Colli Senesi, Tosco and Lavischio. The latter two belong to the Toscana IGT category and are associated respectively with Sangiovese and Merlot.

Current management

Casavecchia forms part of the family-managed company directed by Pierluigi Tagliabue together with his grandson, winemaker Luca Belingardi.

2026: Caspagnolo redesign

In May 2026, Caspagnolo Chianti Colli Senesi returned with a redesigned presentation. The contemporary visual restyling changed the label’s appearance while retaining the established identity of the wine.
