History
The property has agricultural and winegrowing roots dating to the nineteenth century.
In 1967 Italo Cresti developed the farm as a commercial wine estate. The property is now run by his children Gioia and Filippo, with Sara representing the next generation.
Gioia manages winemaking from harvest through maturation. Filippo manages sales, communication and marketing. Sara works as a brand ambassador and is studying oenology.
Terroir
The estate lies at the foot of Montaperti hill near Siena, at the southern edge of Chianti Classico. The 90 ha property includes 30 ha of vineyards.
Winemaking
The land and vineyards have been cultivated according to certified-organic principles since 2008.
The range contains Chianti Classico, Chianti Colli Senesi, two single-vineyard Gran Selezione wines, a Toscana IGT blend and a traditional-method sparkling wine.
Philosophy
The family works to preserve the landscape, local traditions and the individual character of its vineyard sites.
