About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
Il Bosco is one of Gerardo Cesari's four vineyards, which together cover 5 ha. It lies southeast of Verona at 150 metres above sea level. The vines are on average more than 20 years old, planted at 3300 plants per hectare. The soils are mainly limestone with light clay deposits. The position of the hills and the soil composition give good drainage. The climate is cool, and the elevation keeps the vineyards well ventilated, protecting them from disease and rot.
Vinification
Only perfectly healthy, high-quality fruit is used, so the wine is made in limited quantities and only in the most favourable years. The grapes are dried as whole bunches before production, which concentrates the sugar in the berries, encourages vigorous fermentation and gives a stronger wine. Skin maceration lasts 20–30 days. After fermentation the wine is racked off the lees and moved to stainless steel tanks for malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures for 2 years in French and Slavonian oak barrels, followed by 8–12 months of bottle ageing.
Vintage notes
The 2015 vintage is recommended for drinking between 2020 and 2032.

The wine is bottled in specially numbered and signed bottles.
