Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from vineyards with clay and sandy soils and is grown organically.

Vinification

After harvest, the grapes undergo traditional vinification, followed by secondary fermentation using the Charmat method.

Serving and pairing

Suitable as an aperitif and with fish, white meats and appetisers.

Label / history

Maia takes its name from one of the seven sisters of the Pleiades. In ancient tradition, she guided the sailors and farmers of Lake Garda in navigation and during the harvest. The daughter of Atlas, she was regarded by the Greeks as the most beautiful of the Pleiades nymphs; she was loved by Zeus and gave birth to Hermes. Legend associated Maia with destructive fire, while she was also the goddess of nature, a herald of spring and a symbol of fertility and nourishment. The month of May was dedicated to her.

NovaPalma is the ancient name of a fortified Venetian city laid out as a regular nine-pointed star, with bastions designed to protect the neighbouring bastions.
