About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Nebbiolo vines grow in a vineyard of approximately 2 ha in Castiglione Falletto, at 300 m above sea level. The site faces southwest and has iron-rich clay soils. The vines are more than 50 years old.
Vinification
After harvest, the grapes undergo 6–10 days of maceration in stainless-steel tanks, followed by fermentation for 10–12 days.
Ageing
The wine matures for 20 months in small French oak barrels.
Tasting profile
Refined and aristocratic in style, with elegance and finesse. It has a firm, powerful character, with earthy notes and a distinct menthol accent.
Label / history
Paolo Cordero di Montezemolo created the name Enrico VI in the early 1970s to commemorate the birth of his sixth son, Enrico, and the purchase of the vineyard.
