About this wine
Grapes
The blend is 80% Negroamaro and 20% Malvasia Nera, both grown on Dr. Cosimo Taurino’s estate. Negroamaro means “black” in the local dialect, while Malvasia Nera translates as “red.”
Vinification
Minimal-intervention winemaking preserves the varieties’ natural aromas and fruit character. The wine undergoes gentle filtration before bottling.
Ageing
It ages in small oak barrels for around six months.
Tasting profile
Fruit-led, with gently sweet tannins and a pleasant, slightly tart finish.
Label / history
The wine takes its name from Salice Salentino, a small commune in Puglia on the “heel” of Italy.
