About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The estate vineyards lie in the hills of the Roncà commune, on the slopes of the extinct volcanoes Calvarina and Crocetta. The mineral-rich volcanic soils consist of lava and tuff formed by eruptions during the Miocene, around 40 million years ago. A moderate climate, marked differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures, and air currents from the Alps support ripening.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested entirely by hand. They undergo a short, 24-hour cold maceration on the skins at 5 °C. The must then ferments in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16 °C.
Ageing
The wine rests on fine lees in stainless-steel tanks for at least three months, with weekly bâtonnage, followed by at least 45 days in bottle.
Tasting profile
Elegant, with a mineral character.
