Vineyard and terroir
The Nizza production area is small and covers Nizza Monferrato and the surrounding municipalities. The vineyards lie on hills and elevated sites with varied sandy and clay soils and a south-eastern exposure.
Serving and pairing
Suited to refined first courses, red meat, stews and aged cheeses.
Label / history
Barbera has been the wine that best represents Dezzani's quality and philosophy, and one of the winery's most rewarding to produce, so the estate wanted a Nizza DOCG in its range. The DOCG, dedicated to high-quality Barbera, was officially recognised on 1 July 2016. It operates under strict regional rules, with additional limits set by the producers themselves.
