About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vineyard lies in Scansano, in the province of Grosseto, at 350 metres above sea level, on clay-limestone soils.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-September and carefully sorted. After gentle pressing, the individual varieties are fermented separately in large stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28–30 °C.

Ageing

The wine matures for eight months in untoasted French oak barriques. The varietal wines are then blended and bottled, followed by several more months of bottle ageing in the cellars of Castello di Montepo.
