Production zone: La Morra. Bottles produced: 1,000-1,200. Average vine age: part from 1948, part from 1989. Soil: clay-sandy marls. Exposure: south.
Vinification and ageing
Maceration on skins in temperature-controlled rotofermenter for 3-4 days; ageing in 100% new French barriques for 18 months.
Tasting profile
Colour: ruby red tending to garnet. Nose: broad, rounded, fresh and balsamic, with dried flowers and raspberry. Palate: fresh, with small red fruits, raspberry, currant, soft tannins, exceptional balance and persistence.
