About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie in the Asti region at 350 metres above sea level. Their soils are clay and sand, and the vines average 30 years of age.
Vinification
After harvest, the grapes are taken to the winery and gently pressed. The juice is clarified with pectolytic enzymes, then fermented in stainless-steel tanks at 15 °C. The wine is filtered before bottling.
Vintage notes
In 2016, moderate temperatures in January and February brought an early start to a prolonged growing season. Cooler spring weather subsequently slowed vine development and delayed flowering. April was marked by heavy rain, but average daytime temperatures and cold nights prevented fungal growth. The resulting slight physiological delay benefited the harvest, leaving the grapes well suited to vinification.
