About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vines are 15–25 years old and grow on southwest- and southeast-facing vineyards. The soils combine sandstone and clay with gravel, and planting density ranges from 2,000 to 4,500 vines per hectare.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in the second half of September and placed in 18 kg crates. They are transported to the winery in temperature-controlled trucks, then selected and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at 16–18 °C.
Ageing
The wine rests on fine lees for three months.
Label / history
Vines have been cultivated in Sannio since Roman times. The traditional Falanga training method gave Falanghina its name.
