About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the Pietracalda vineyard in the heart of Sorbo Serpico, Campania, Southern Italy. The site has a south-westerly exposure and lies at 500–1,500 metres above sea level. Clay topsoil covers layers of volcanic ash and sand. The vines are 15 years old and planted at a density of 4,500 vines per hectare.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand during the first ten days of October. Immediately after picking, they are gently pressed with their stems. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at 16–18 °C.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees for four to five months.
