About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

Fontanafredda’s vineyards in Treiso, in the province of Cuneo, occupy sunny mid-slope sites with fairly compact limestone soils.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested in the second half of September. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel vats for 7–10 days at 24–25 °C, followed by a rapid malolactic fermentation.

Ageing

The wine rests briefly in stainless steel. It is bottled in the spring following the harvest and spends a further two months in bottle.

Label / history

The wine belongs to Fontanafredda’s core “The Stripes” range, distinguished by striped labels and created to present a broad selection of Piedmont wines. The range consists mainly of single-varietal wines sourced from specific communes or individual vineyards.
